Improvement

  • Armor with the Light Weapon Mount or Heavy Weapon Mount armor upgrades can now have weapons installed in them from their sidebar.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Solarian Stellar Revelations Aramament of Gravity and Armament of Light to be level 14.
  • Fixed Tensile Reinforcement armor upgrade not applying to Shields.
  • Fixed the damage reduction provided by the Mechanized Evolutionist Niche to be bypassed by the kinetic damge type selected as part of the Niche's Instinct.
  • Fixed various Technological items being incorrectly classified as Personal items.
  • Fixed how floating point bulk is shown in the Total Bulk sidebar on the Sheet > Inventory page.

Hephaistos 2E

  • Added Cleric & Druid classes from PF Player Core.
  • Added ability to create Animal Companions & Pets from PF Player Core in the Companion creator.
  • Added support for Automatic Bonus Progression variant rule.
  • Weapon sidebar now shows the breakdown of attack and damage bonuses, and allows overriding them.
  • The feat selections provided by the Operative class feature Specialized Skill Set are now automatically filtered to the Operative's Specialization skill.
  • The Cloud Chemist background now adds the Serum Crafting feat.
  • Feats that have already been chosen and cannot be chosen multiple times are now hidden when "Show Qualified Only" is enabled in the Feat selection dialog.
  • Fixed adding traits in the Creature Creator > Abilities section only adding traits to the last ability in the list.
  • Fixed editing details for senses like Imprecise Sense being interrupted after every keystroke.
  • Fixed additional spells from Mystic feat Divine Bond replacing spell selections.
  • Fixed description for the Healing and Mental traits.

2025 In Review

This is the last Hephaistos release of 2025 so I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything that happened. Of course, the biggest Starfinder-related news was the release of the second edition. Certainly, the last half of this year for me was dominated by updating all the content of Hephaistos 2E, and also starting to add content from Pathfinder source books. Hephaistos 2E also saw the addition a Companion buidler (as part of the Character sheet) and a Creature builder based on the rules in GM Core.

Hephaistos 1E also continued to receive major updates, including a Charter Manager and a Changelog, in addition to the usual minor improvements and bug fixes.

On a personal note, it was also very exciting for me to get the opportunity to actually contribute to Starfinder 2E and write the Skreesire and Skreeling for Alien Core.

Looking ahead, there's obviously a lot of features and content to add to Hephaistos 2E, and I also want to finish off the few remaining items on the Hephaistos 1E roadmap.

Thanks to everyone who used Hephaistos, recommended it to others, reported bugs, provided suggestions and donated money for all your support. Knowing that Hephaistos helps more people play Starfinder is genuinely one of the most rewarding parts for me.

Improvements

  • Items with capacity and usage values (e.g. Portable Flashlight) can now have their usage tracked in their sidebar.
  • Items which require batteries can have them installed in their sidebar.

Bug Fixes

  • Added missing description text to Locus weapons.
  • Fixed typo in the description of the Artificial Third Eye augmentation.
  • Fixed the option to color HP on the Starship sheet not working.

Hephaistos 2E

  • Fixed Operative specialization Striker still providing Strength as a possible key attribute.
  • Rogue's Thief racket now adds Dexterity modifier to damage rolls for finesse weapons if it's higher than the Strength modifier.
  • Fixed High attribute modifiers in the Creature builder being 0 when they should be 10.

Improvements

  • Added the "Unidentified" equipment tag which can be added to items to obfuscate their details.
  • Added missing Witchwarper Paradigm Shift Alternate Entry
  • Armor Upgrade Tensile Reinformcement now automatically recalculates the HP and Hardness of the armor its installed in.
  • Capacity & Usage for Armor Upgrades can now be tracked on their respective sidebar, instead of only being available on the sidebar of the Armor they were installed in.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed incorrect levels being shown for feats in the Creator > Drone > Feats section.
  • Fixed the Armor Savant Graft augmentation so it provides an enhancement bonus to AC.
  • Fixed typo in the name of the Mystic Connection Flamewalker's Flaming Weaponry benefit.

Hephaistos 2E

  • Damage type and weapon group for the second solar weapon provided by the Solarian feat Twin Weapons can now be selected.
  • Weapon groups for the Fighter Weapon Mastery and Weapon Legend class features, and Advanced Weapon Training feat can now be selected.
  • Fixed Operative's Reflex Mastery class feature not increasing proficiency for Reflex saves to Master.
  • Fixed Soldier's Resilience archetype feat not providing the correct number of additional hit points.
  • Fixed selected Free Archetype feats providing effects even after the rule has been disabled.

  • Fixed spell Akashic Download being listed as an Arcane spell.
  • Fixed the Gnome ancestry having 6 base hit points instead of 8.
  • Fixed Ikeshit feat Toxic Transference not calculating prerequisites correctly.

Creature Builder: If you're familiar with the Starfinder 1E version of Hephaistos then you know that its is more than just a Character builder, with the ability to create and manage Starships, Mechs, NPCs, Tactical & Starship Encounters and so on. That is also my vision for Hephaistos 2E, and so I've started working on adding a Creature/NPC builder to the website. There's nothing to show just yet, but I'm aiming for the Creature builder to be released early-to-mid December.
